If you thought Gen Y presented marketers and creatives with a challenge, then get ready for Gen Z. SARI runs an annual study on the health of the theatrical window looking at cinema-going needs and behaviors. Gen Z are a generation that has grown up with content readily available and perceived to be “free”. Their definition of “engagement” is also very different which is a threat for the theatrical medium and one the industry must recognize to avoid becoming the “drive-in of the future”.
